Six Counties Kidney Patients Association
The SCKPA is run for Patients by Patients.
Everyone on our Committee is either a patient or the carer of a patient. We raise money to help all kidney patients cope with any mental, physical or financial problems. We offer support to people suffering from kidney disease and/or renal insufficiency. We cover members from the area served by the Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and its successors (Oxfordshire, Northamptonshire, Buckinghamshire, Berkshire and parts of Wiltshire and Gloucestershire, not forgetting Milton Keynes).
Transplant Sport is the largest national charity promoting active recovery for transplant recipients and increasing awareness of the benefits of organ donation. We actively promote the importance of more people telling their family and friends they wish to donate, so that families do not refuse to give consent because of a lack of knowledge. Transplant Sport is committed to increasing the family consent rate from 60% to 80% by 2020 and encouraging all to join the NHS Organ Donor Register.
Post-transplant fitness is essential for a healthy future. Our events help members to engage in sport and social activity whilst promoting the donor register. Members get to enjoy the gift of life they have received and share experiences with each other.
